Man sentenced to probation, treatment program after armed confrontation with deputies

A 37-year-old man arrested after Lane County Sheriff’s deputies said he fired shots in their direction pleaded guilty Sept. 30 to first-degree burglary with a firearm and unlawfully using a weapon, among other charges.

David Anthony Raymond, from Springfield, was sentenced to 48 months probation, a lesser sentence than recommended under sentencing guidelines.

Raymond must also enter into a program administered by the Lane County Adult Treatment Court, if eligible. Lane County’s treatment court program aims to help participants avoid substance abuse and, if needed, receive mental health services…
