Community weighs future of former Saint Rose campus

  • County hosts second workshop to shape future of Pine Hills campus

ALBANY – The redevelopment of the former College of Saint Rose campus took another step forward Thursday as Albany County hosted its second public visioning workshop, drawing more than 200 residents and community members to discuss potential uses for the 26.5-acre property in the Pine Hills neighborhood.

The session, part of the county’s “Reimagine Saint Rose” initiative, was organized by the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority and its consulting team led by CPL. The site, purchased earlier this year for $35 million through tax-exempt bonds, is being reshaped through a community-driven process that emphasizes education, recreation, housing and public space.
