Birmingham man killed in Etowah County pickup truck crash

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham man was killed in a pickup truck in Etowah County on Monday morning, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Abdul Hakeem Najee Rashad, 57, was fatally injured when the GMC Canyon he was operating departed the roadway, overturned and hit a tree. The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on Highway 278 about one mile west of Walnut Grove.
