Judge approves motion to withdraw plea deal offered to man charged in fellow Allen County Jail inmate’s death

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – A judge has approved a prosecutor’s request to withdraw a plea they previously offered to a 34-year-old man accused of a role in the death of a fellow Allen County Jail inmate.

In January, Brian Boggs pleaded guilty to dealing a controlled substance resulting in death and a charge of dealing narcotics in an agreement that called for a 25-year prison sentence and required him to testify against 29-year-old Taylor D. Hunt, who is also charged in the case.

Both men are accused of giving 27-year-old Steven Perry fentanyl in exchange for commissary items, leading to his overdose death in February 2024…
