Portage to plant 250 new trees in tornado-hit areas with support from grants

PORTAGE, Mich. — The City of Portage is planting hundreds of trees this fall in an effort to reforest some areas hardest hit by the tornado in May of last year.

What once used to be a beautiful, forested area is now just some downed and damaged trees.
