KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Two people have been charged after drugs and guns were found near Woodland Avenue on Saturday, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
KPD said officers were conducting a follow-up investigation to a theft reported earlier in the day and found the suspects, Jesse Rocha and Tina Omary, both 39, at a camp south of Woodland Avenue.
When officers arrived at the camp, KPD said Rocha saw Rocha climb a fence and run across Woodland Avenue. After a brief foot chase, he was taken into custody. After this, officers found Omary, who initially gave officers a fake name but was taken into custody without incident after confirming her identity.
While searching a tent they were staying in, KPD said officers “found several narcotics that appeared to be packaged for resale, including three individually packaged baggies of suspected crack cocaine, 0.8 grams of suspected heroin, 4.3 grams of suspected marijuana and 1.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine. Officers also recovered a loaded handgun in the tent.”…
