MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WRBL) — Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, alongside college students and mascots representing The University of Alabama and Auburn University, proclaimed October 6, 2025 as ‘Beat Bama Food Drive’ and ‘Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Day’ in the state.
Gov. Ivey’s office says the food drives are annual efforts that students at the University of Alabama and Auburn University participate in ahead of the Iron Bowl.
The student run event was created in partnership with the Center for Service and Leadership and the West Alabama Food Bank in 1994. The food drive aims to provide food for Alabama families in need.
