New therapy program aims to keep Bexar County’s at-risk youth out of jail

A new grant-funded program is delivering comprehensive mental health care straight to the homes, schools and communities of Bexar County’s most at-risk youth.

The family-focused intervention is called multisystemic therapy, or MST. In March, Texas Health and Human Services awarded the Bexar County Center for Health Care Services a $1.3 million grant to fund the therapy as part of a statewide initiative aimed at reducing juvenile crime.
