ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — “A prison.” That’s how one person described Albuquerque’s Gateway Center. The massive project, years in the making, is something Mayor Tim Keller says he’s proud of and is perhaps the main tool in solving our homeless epidemic.
But others, even those who relied on the center, don’t see it the same way. On Sunday, some of the candidates hoping to become Albuquerque’s next mayor had to answer how they would fix that perception and our growing homeless crisis.
