I-70 westbound reopened at Loveland Pass after multiple crashes amid icy conditions

DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 westbound has reopened in the high country after multiple crashes amid icy road conditions Monday morning caused closures, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff’s Office.

The affected area was between U.S. 6 at Loveland Pass and Silverthorne and had previously been the whole westbound side of the interstate, but the sheriff’s office at 7:10 a.m. said all lanes have reopened.

The sheriff’s office said there were three crashes in the area leading to the closure, and though the interstate has reopened, the backup is more than three miles long…
