Bakersfield police to purchase 5 new BMW motorcycles for replacement

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Bakersfield Police Department is looking to purchase new motorcycles to replace the existing ones that are worn out and in need of repairs, according to the Bakersfield City Council agenda.

According to the agenda, the city is working to purchase five BMW RT-P motorcycles for BPD.

City officials are trying to “piggyback” on an existing contract that the city of San Bernardino entered into with Long Beach BMW Motorcycle to also buy BMW RT-P motorcycles, which San Bernardino has already approved, the agenda said.
