‘Lot of issues’: Burgess community reacts to potential rezoning

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – Burgess community members are speaking out about a potential rezoning that could bring thousands of homes to the area.

While a formal rezoning application has not been submitted to Horry County, a developer has consulted with Chris Valcourt of the Blackmoor Property Owners Association (POA) for input on a potential rezoning of land near the Blackmoor golf course and St. James High School.

The Greater Burgess Community Association says the proposed re-zoning looks to nearly double the allowed housing density from 1200-1400 homes to 2000 homes…
