KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Charges have been dismissed against a former officer for the Knoxville Police Department and the University of Tennessee Police Department, who was facing stalking charges in Georgia.
Anthony Rizo, 34, of Knoxville, was arrested in December 2024. On August 25, 2025, court documents were filed, stating the charges against him were dismissed Nolle Prosequi, which is a formal notice of abandonment by a prosecutor. The filing explains that the charges were not prosecuted due to insufficient evidence to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.
