LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A proposed development in downtown Lexington could lead to the demolition of a dozen historic buildings, a plan that preservation advocates said would erase part of the city’s architectural heritage.
In an 8-2 vote, the Lexington-Fayette Urban County Planning Commission approved a rezoning request for the Aylesford neighborhood. The proposal would allow developers with Core Spaces to build an eight-story residential complex featuring 322 units and 436 parking spaces.
