Newark woman arrested for using stolen credit card at casino

A Newark woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to use a stolen credit card at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack.

Deputies arrested 70-year-old Iris Velazquez on Monday afternoon for fourth-degree possession of stolen property. The incident happened around 4:43 p.m. at the casino in Farmington, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials say Velazquez tried to retrieve cash at a cage teller window using a stolen credit card. Casino employees alerted law enforcement, and deputies found Velazquez still at the scene when they arrived.
