ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Steven Scatliffe losing his dog “Nikki” is a day he will never forget.
Now, he wants to remind pet owners that it’s not just the fireworks in the sky during Balloon Fiesta that can spook our furry friends from miles high.
“You don’t want to receive a call in the middle, especially in the middle of fiesta, and say your dog’s gone, it’s heartbreaking,” said Steven Scatliffe, an Albuquerque resident. “I was out on the field, just having a ball, having the time of my life. They had just started mass ascension, and I got this call, and a guy that was on the other line tells me, ‘Steven, your dog’s gone.’”…
