‘Use less, pay less’: The City launches new online tool to help residents save on sewer bills

HONOLULU (KHON2) – The City and County of Honolulu has launched a new online tool to help residents prepare for sewer rate changes.

Starting Jan. 1, 2026, the “Use Less, Pay Less” campaign features a calculator that allows people to see how much they can save by using less water.

“We want residents to know they have the power to manage their costs,” said Environmental Services Director Roger Babcock. “Our new online calculator and water-saving tips make it easy for everyone to plan ahead and save.”

This is the city’s first sewer rate increase since 2016, and the money will help maintain and upgrade wastewater treatment plants across Oʻahu…
