Concrete truck slams into Madison County home, causing structural damage

HOT SPRINGS, N.C. (WLOS) — A massive concrete truck went off of Silvermine Road and crashed into a home in Hot Springs on Wednesday morning.

Authorities say it happened around 10 a.m. when two large construction trucks were trying to maneuver along a narrow stretch of road. According to Hot Springs Police, one truck’s right front tire clipped a rock, causing both axles to lock up. The driver then accelerated harder than he should have, losing control, crossing the roadway, and going down an embankment, directly into a house.

Police described the crash as a “total unfortunate accident.”…
