Car crashes into middle school entrance in Pickens Co.

PICKENS COUNTY (WSPA) — A driver experiencing a medical emergency accidentally crashed their vehicle into the front of a middle school Monday morning, according to the School District of Pickens County.

The incident occurred around 8:05 a.m. at R.C. Edwards Middle School on Madden Bridge Road in Central before school began. The school district said no students or staff were involved, and all are safe.

The Central Fire Department responded promptly to the incident, ensuring the scene was secure and the driver received medical attention. “So we were able to secure the scene and dry out all the oil and help EMS get the patient evaluated and turn it over to highway patrol and school district office officials,” said Battalion Chief Elijah Reynolds of the Central Fire Department…
