OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man admitted to investigators that he killed his girlfriend after initially telling them he had been assaulted by another man and witnessed her murder near Kalamazoo over the weekend, court documents show.
Jayvon Bulock, 27, has been charged with open murder in the death of Naomi Nakken, who was shot and killed at his home at Mount Royal Townhomes in Oshtemo Township.

Court documents say Bulock called 911 early Saturday to report he had been attacked and his girlfriend murdered. Responding deputies say they found Nakken on the floor of the apartment with gunshot wounds near her face. The door to the apartment had been bolted shut from the outside.
The court documents say Bulock and Nakken went to a bar in Kalamazoo Friday night. A friend of Bulock’s and his girlfriend drove them home to Bulock’s apartment and said they briefly came inside around 2:45 a.m. Saturday before Nakken and Bulock began arguing.
