A Leesburg man was arrested for driving while his license was revoked for being a habitual offender with five prior traffic-related convictions.
A deputy stopped 33-year-old Christian Phillip Jones in a blue Ford truck at County Road 473 and South Haines Creek Road in Leesburg at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle did not have a white tag light illuminating the license plate.
Jones handed over his license and stated he was aware it was not valid. A check confirmed he had five convictions for driving while license suspended as of Sept. 23, 2014, Oct. 14, 2014, July 7, 2015, April 24, 2018, and Nov. 3, 2020. He had his license revoked due to being classified as a habitual traffic offender, and it had not been reinstated since, the report said.
