Tiny house offers temporary refuge for Port Salerno woman after tornado damage

STUART, Fla. (CBS12) — A Port Salerno woman is moving into a tiny temporary house in her front yard today, while her home awaits extensive repairs after a tornado hit the neighborhood last October.

She has been staying with her daughter in Port St. Lucie for months.

The tiny house is 426 square feet and was built by Project Lift, a non-profit group in Hobe Sound that provides mental health counseling and job training for young people ages 14-25…
