With fresh deliveries every Thursday and a “clamily” that fills the house on holidays, Clam Diggers serves from the coast- and the heart.

Clam Diggers’ owner Tina Gurley has turned a small-town seafood stand into a thriving restaurant and live music venue by pairing a simple observation with a cooking philosophy: Bedford needed fresh seafood and there are countless ways to cook fish without frying them. At Clam Diggers, there isn’t a fryer, or even a frying pan, in sight.

When Tina moved from Hampton to Bedford, she missed the taste of the coast, and soon realized she wasn’t the only one. Her seafood stand at the Bedford Farmers Market consistently drew long lines of locals. As the market closed for the season, she opened her own seafood shop, only to find her customers wanted more than just fish to take home. “They kept asking me to cook it for them,” Tina recalled. “So, I figured I might as well open a restaurant.”…
