Eastern Screech-Owl to be released after rehabilitation with SWVA Wildlife Center

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – The Southwest Virginia Wildlife Center will be releasing an Eastern Screech-Owl on Friday. The owl was admitted in May after being found upside down and entangled in patio furniture with damage to its legs.

The release will be on October 10 at Starkey Park South at 6:30 p.m., and all are welcome to attend.

The owl was admitted on May 20, 2025, with leg injuries and required five months of long-term rehabilitation. Now, the owl is ready to be released back into the wild.
