‘A recipe for disaster:’ Ontario County leaders say current electric grid can’t keep up with growing population

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WROC) — With an influx in new houses and businesses across Ontario County, local leaders worry about the current electric infrastructure & its ability to keep up with increasing demand.

According to Chairman for the Ontario County Board of Supervisors and Canandaigua Town Supervisor Jared Simpson, it’s a concern town leaders from Geneva to Victor have been discussing for the past few years.

“It’s a recipe for disaster unless something drastic is done,” Simpson said. “We could be looking at 2,000 residences that are now in jeopardy.”…
