Consumer Alert: Insurers are changing or dropping Medicare Advantage Plans

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Medicare open enrollment begins next week, and recipients in the area are receiving letters indicating they no longer have Medicare Advantage. Insurance companies are dropping or changing their plans, News10NBC reported.

Dr. Rhonda Randall, UnitedHealthcare’s chief medical officer, said, “This is the time that you want to spend doing your research and getting educated about the plans that are offered in your area.”

On UnitedHealthcare’s website, the 2025 plans show several Medicare Advantage offers. However, there are no Medicare Advantage plans for 2026, as United is no longer offering them in the area. Only those with dual coverage or Medicaid alone will have a United option. Unitedhealthcare Med Supp and standalone Part D plans for prescriptions are also available…
