ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A local man has become the 717th person in history to cross the Kármán line (the boundary of space).
Aaron Newman is an adventurer of both the sky and the sea, as well as an entrepreneur. He has been to the bottom of the ocean and seen the stern of the famous Titanic, and has just become one of the less than 800 people who have been officially in space.
Back in 2021, Newman was a passenger on the now infamous OceanGate Expeditions ‘”Titan” submersible. He is also one of seven people to have ever visited the deepest point in our ocean, the Mariana Trench.
Local man took same “Titan” submersible trip two years ago
On October 8, Newman was a passenger on the Blue Origin New Shepard Mission NS-36. This makes him one of the few people to have ever reached the Earth’s deepest point and exited our atmosphere.
His exploration efforts have even brought him to Mt. Everest…
