After COVID vaccines, a nursing home worker lost her leg, then her job. Now she’s suing

A Maryland nursing home must face a federal disability lawsuit brought by a former nursing employee who alleges she faced discrimination and a “hostile” working environment after having her leg amputated.

Licensed practical nurse Shirley Dailey sued Elkton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in June. She argues she was shuffled through multiple jobs, including an infection preventionist position for which she was not given promised training and then was later written up for not fulfilling specific requirements.

Dailey claims the reassignments and poor treatment by coworkers, including those without disabilities who took her reserved parking spot, were in response to her requests for “reasonable accommodations.”…
