Name released in fatal pick-up vs train crash

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – The name of the man who died in a train vs. pick-up crash on Saturday afternoon has been released.

1 dead in Sanborn County truck vs. train crash

According to a press release from the Department of Public Safety, 30-year-old Alejandro Mackenzie Flores of Rosharon, Texas, was driving with a 29-year-old passenger near the intersection of 339th Avenue and 237th Street in Sanborn County, working in the area along the tracks.

The truck was not able to get off the tracks before being struck by a BNSF train.

Flores died at the scene, the passenger was taken to a Mitchell hospital for minor injuries…
