‘Extremely dangerous’: Massillon PD issues warning after deadly garage explosion

MASSILLON, Ohio (WJW) – The Massillon Police Department is warning residents after a deadly garage explosion that happened in the city last week.

On Friday, firefighters responded to the explosion in the 200 block of 17th Street just after 3 p.m. Massillon Fire Chief Matt Heck told FOX 8 at the time that one person died in the explosion.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to the incident, which left several nearby homes with minor damages.

The fire chief said an investigation could take months, but evidence revealed that modified or disassembled fireworks may have been involved in the explosion, Massillon police confirmed in a Sunday update…
