AKRON, Ohio (WJW) – The tragic death of a 25-year-old Wayne County man early Sunday morning in Akron’s Highland Square neighborhood has struck a nerve in the community that was once considered the center of the city’s art scene.
Tim Hutchinson, a 2025 graduate of the University of Akron’s College of Engineering, was hit by a stray bullet when two gunmen opened fire on each other on a crowded sidewalk.
On Wednesday night, residents and business owners in Highland Square voiced their fears and frustrations in a meeting with Akron police and city leaders.
