A Phillipsburg teen charged in the killing of a 23-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in a raid at a town apartment, authorities said.
Jahlan Odums, 19, of the 100 block of South Main Street in Phillipsburg, is charged with first-degree murder and related second-degree weapons charges. He was taken to the Essex County Sheriff’s Office for transport to the Essex County jail in Newark.
The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said Odums was wanted in the fatal shooting Jeramahia Bascal. The victim was found shot at 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 26 while sitting in a parked car in the first block of Smith Street in Newark, authorities said…
