Dolly Parton Declares, “I Ain’t Dead Yet!” After Health Concerns Spark Fan Prayers

Nashville icon Dolly Parton has offered a reassuring update on her health, playfully declaring “I ain’t dead yet!” after her sister’s public call for prayers sparked widespread concern among fans. The beloved singer-songwriter took to social media to put worries to rest, confirming she’s “OK” despite facing “some problems” and undergoing “a few treatments.”

In a video posted Wednesday, Parton, ever the spirited entertainer, challenged onlookers with a rhetorical, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here!” She explained that the footage was filmed on October 8th amidst commercial shoots, specifically to ease the minds of her “real concerned” admirers.

Parton candidly shared that after a difficult period earlier this year, she “didn’t take care of myself” and “let a lot of things go that I should have been taking care of.” When she finally consulted her doctor, she was advised to address a few issues. “Nothing major,” she clarified, but it did necessitate canceling some engagements to remain closer to home for her treatments.

“I wanted you to know that I’m not dying!” Parton emphasized, her signature humor shining through.

“I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working.”

The superstar’s direct address comes just a day after her sister, Freida Parton, galvanized “prayer warriors” across the globe. Freida had posted on Facebook on October 7th, revealing she’d been “up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” and acknowledging that Dolly “hasn’t been feeling her best lately.” Freida’s heartfelt plea resonated deeply, reassuring fans that with prayers, her “sissy Dolly” would “be just fine.”

This isn’t the first time Parton has addressed health challenges this year. In a September 28th social media post, she announced the postponement of her Las Vegas concerts, citing “some health challenges” and the need for “a few procedures.” At the time, she expressed her commitment to delivering the best show possible for her fans, stating, “I just need a little time to get show ready.”

Despite these recent hurdles, Dolly Parton continues to work on various projects from her Nashville base, proving that even a few “problems” can’t keep this legend down for long.
