Arrest made in Hueytown shooting that left 17-year-old injured

HUEYTOWN, Ala. (WIAT) — An arrest was made following a shooting that left a 17-year-old boy injured in Hueytown on Monday.

According to the Hueytown Police Department, officers responded around 1:50 p.m. Monday to a person shot call in the 4300 block of 15th Street. Officers discovered the 17-year-old boy lying beside his vehicle shot. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he is in stable condition of Wednesday.

Within four hours of the call, police found the suspect’s vehicle in a remote area off Koppers Drive and arrested the suspect at his residence. The suspect is another 17-year-old male and knows the victim.
