SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Over 30,000 years ago, dogs and humans started walking side-by-side. Today, some of the most athletic and loyal dogs work in Law Enforcement.
This is the story of Vinnie, a K-9 with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, and his handler, Lieutenant Jeremy Bertolino. Vinnie has already won regional awards for his training. Now he gets to compete with other K-9 teams from around the country. And the other teams are coming to Vinnie.
The United States Police Canine Association National Field Trials will be held in Manatee County from November 9th through November 14th. The entire event, including feeding dozens of dog handlers, 20 judges, and five official scorekeepers, is funded by donations…
