Chinese National Sentenced in Michigan for Operating Criminal Enterprise of Illicit Massage Parlors in Wayne County

In a notable case addressing human trafficking and illegal operations, Huazi Piao, age 61, has been sentenced to a term of 40 months to 20 years in prison. According to the Michigan Attorney General’s office, Piao’s conviction stems from a guilty plea to one count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise. This case identifies an insidious network of illicit activities disguised as massage parlors in Wayne County.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced the sentencing, which was the culmination of an intensive investigation initiated in the summer of the previous year. The investigation unveiled a suspected international human trafficking ring, it drew upon the collaborative efforts of various law enforcement entities, namely Homeland Security Investigations, Michigan State Police, and the St. Clair Shores Police Department.
