SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) — An agreement was reached Wednesday to settle what will become of the Spartanburg clock tower.
City leaders said the structure will be removed from its current location, saving the clock, the bell and its mechanics, the plaque, the tower’s peak and “several bricks.”
“Today was a huge victory for all Spartans past present and future,” said Kimberly Branch, an organizer with Support the Spartanburg Clock Tower group. “Our goal was to save, protect and preserve the clocktower for generations to come.
