A Canandaigua woman was arrested earlier this month after police say a 6-year-old child in her care left the house unsupervised while she was unresponsive inside.
Alyssa M. Hershberger, 39, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child following a report of a suspicious condition on West Gibson Street around 10:20 a.m. on October 1.
Officers responded to the scene and determined that Hershberger was incapacitated to the point that she couldn’t be woken. During that time, the child left the home alone.
Police were eventually able to wake Hershberger, and she was taken into custody. She was released with an appearance ticket and is due in Canandaigua City Court at a later date…
