MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa — The eastbound lanes of Interstate-80 near Mitchellville are closed following a head-on crash involving a semi.
According to Sgt. Alex Dinkla with the Iowa State Patrol, a semi and Kia Sorento collided head-on in the eastbound lanes. The collision subsequently resulted in a vehicle fire. Both drivers of the vehicles were taken to hospitals. Their conditions have not been released.

Sgt. Dinkla said the eastbound lanes are expected to be closed for an extended period of time.
