These days, you practically have to take out a loan to get to a concert. Once you add up the travel, food, drink, parking, and if necessary, lodging expenses, the cost of one single show can easily skyrocket to more than a couple of benjamins. And that’s even before you throw the actual ticket on the expense pile. If you want a ticket that’s not up in the nosebleeds, it’ll generally run you a pretty penny.
Most of that is thanks to Live Nation and Ticketmaster, who have made the ticket buying experience one full of dread and an inordinate amount of additional, secretive fees.
