A high wind watch was released by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 2 p.m. valid from Sunday, Oct. 19 until Monday, Oct. 20 for Brooklyn and Queens as well as Suffolk and Nassau counties.
The weather service states, “Wind gusts up to 60 mph possible.”
“Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles,” comments the weather service. “Monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Fasten loose objects or shelter objects in a safe location prior to the onset of winds.”
