UPDATE: No arrests after RPD establish perimeter around West Avenue house

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — West Avenue in Rochester is now reopened after having been closed off from Appleton Street to Somerset Street for a police investigation.

Rochester Police had established a perimeter around 253 West Ave. Wednesday afternoon. They had responded to the area for the report of a vehicle crash and were told that the striking vehicle had moved to the rear of 253 West Ave., with one of the occupants entering the house and leaving, possibly with a firearm.

Police tried to call out the people in the house; several came out, but none were identified as the person with the gun. According to police, the victim’s account of the incident changed several times and then they refused to cooperate further. The scene was reopened with no arrests made…
