BUFFALO, N.Y. — When police held a news conference in February 2020 to announce a series of drug raids on Buffalo’s East Side, the U.S. attorney called it a major blow to “perhaps the most prolific drug trafficking organization” in Western New York.
The Erie County Sheriff’s Narcotics and Intelligence Unit — led by Chief Daniel “D.J.” Granville — seized four guns, $250,000 in cash, more than 2 kilograms of cocaine, and 114 grams of fentanyl from a house on Grimes Street off Broadway.
Federal authorities charged four men — David Washington, 39, Eleazar Martinez Medina, 50, David Burgin, 47, and Rodney Pierce, 32 — with various drug and weapons charges, and police said the raids on multiple properties broke up a drug-running ring “stretching across the United States.”…
