The City is close to sealing a deal to consolidate Department of Public Works facilities at a Bailey Avenue site. Uniland Development will design, permit, and implement the DPW campus through a Development Agreement. The Common Council will begin its review of the proposal on Tuesday.
The properties located at 250 Baitz Avenue and 1000 Bailey Avenue total 59.7 acres. Services to be moved to the site include operations from the Broadway Garage (Fleet Management and Sanitation) Mechanical Services, Engineering, Tote Depot, Mayor’s Impact Team, Auto Impound Lot, and potentially other uses.
The consolidated campus is expected to improve service delivery, provide operational efficiencies and cost savings, provide modern work environments for the City workforce, and allow the City to more effectively meet future challenges of all kinds including but not limited to electrification, new technologies, weather events, and climate change.
