Columbia, S.C. (WACH) — The tragic death of 22-year-old Logan Federico has ignited a movement to reform South Carolina’s judicial selection process, a system critics argue is flawed and protective of a select few.
South Carolina is one of only two states where lawmakers elect judges, a practice that has come under scrutiny following Federico’s murder in May during a home invasion in Columbia.
