Man avoids prison because of stabbing victim’s later shooting death

A man charged with felonious assault for stabbing another man after they got off a downtown TARTA bus received two years’ probation Wednesday for cutting off his ankle monitor during the case’s pendency.

But the assault charge against Eldepalo Porter, 53, of the 2800 block of North Superior Street, was dismissed because the man he allegedly stabbed was later killed by somebody else.

According to police, Porter stabbed Robert Boone in an arm after they and a woman accompanying Boone had alit from the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority bus in the 500 block of North Superior Street, outside the Blade building…
