CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The City of Beeville has issued a Local State Disaster Declaration as water levels at Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon Reservoir, the city’s main water sources, continue to fall amid worsening drought conditions.
As part of the emergency declaration, Beeville is activating Stage 4 of its Drought Contingency Plan, which imposes mandatory water-use restrictions on all residents and businesses. Violations may result in fines and enforcement actions.
Officials are urging residents to take immediate steps to conserve water, including repairing leaks, limiting outdoor water use, running only full loads of laundry and dishes, and shortening shower times.
