Texas mounted patrol officer’s joke about horse being able to sniff narcotics goes viral

LUBBOCK, Texas — What started as a normal patrol day for officers in the Lubbock Police Department’s Mounted Patrol Unit turned sour and ended with one person being arrested.

Officers William Trotter and Bryson Lewis were on a normal patrol when they stopped two men walking in the street instead of on the sidewalk.

Officer Trotter said they suspected one of the men had narcotics on them and asked if he consented to a search of his pockets…
