3rd, final fugitive in The Edge at Lowry kidnapping case extradited to Colorado

DENVER (KDVR) — The third and final fugitive in a December 2024 kidnapping and armed home invasion case at the now-closed The Edge at Lowry apartment complex has been extradited to Colorado after he was arrested by Chicago police in April on retail theft charges.

The Aurora Police Department said that as of Oct. 4, Jorman Jose Cuba-Zabala, 26, of Venezuela, was in the Arapahoe County Jail, where he is being held on a $250,000 bond.

He was extradited to the state on an Aurora Police Department warrant for four counts of second-degree kidnapping, four charges of aggravated robbery, two charges of menacing with a deadly weapon and two charges of extortion, which are all felony charges.

Cuba-Zabala is one of 12 people facing charges in connection with what police are calling a “violent kidnapping” and armed home invasion on Dec. 17 at the once-troubled Aurora apartment complex. Other suspects in the case have been “linked to the notorious Tren de Aragua gang,” according to the U.S. Border Patrol, and the chief of the Aurora Police Department later said that the kidnapping was “100% gang activity.“…
