Social media threat to Holmes Middle School deemed not credible

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — An apparent threat in a TikTok video deemed not credible by the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) was made toward Holmes Middle School on Tuesday, Oct. 7.

The video prompted a message to parents from school officials and an increase in security on Tuesday. Colorado Springs School District 11 (D11) spokesperson Jessica Wise released a statement to FOX21 News on Wednesday, Oct. 8, which read in part, “An alleged TikTok video making a very vague threat to the school. We do not believe the threat is legitimate, but we always take it seriously and therefore increase security.”

The school is working with CSPD in an investigation as to the origin and purpose of the video, according to a message sent to Holmes Middle School parents from Assistant Principal Alisa Snelson.
